Chem is a small batch coffee roaster in New York. I created a brand to play on the process of roasting coffee and the chemical reactions that take place. We came up with a vintage science aesthetic that was simple and clean. We needed a way to print short run bags and the ability to change up roasts and batches frequently. We chose to print a standard bag and then make stamps for roast names to be flexible.
